Cobham 3, Guernsey Fc 2
Tuesday 15th November 2011, 11:05PM GMT.
GUERNSEY FC are out of the CCL Division One Challenge Cup after losing out in a thrilling quarter-final contest against a strong Cobham team in Surrey.
Connor McLaren gave the home side a half-team lead totally against the run of play, before that was doubled through the superb ex-professional Jamie Lawrence after the restart.
Ross Allen pulled one back for the Green Lions, although an unfortunate Angus Mackay own goal made it 3-1 to Cobham.
Mackay made amends by scoring GFC’s second, but it was not enough as Cobham are the side to march on into the semi-finals, with the two sides due to meet again early next month in league action.
