A DOZEN Guernsey rowers will attempt to row 100km each for charity next month – similar in distance as rowing to Weymouth.

Raising money for the Guernsey MS Society and the Guernsey Cheshire Home, the 12 Guernsey Rowing Club members will row the distance on Concept rowing machines, throughout Sunday 4 December at Beau Sejour.

It is not the first time that many of the rowers have undertaken gruelling efforts for charity, with three of the group having been part of the 16-man Fitness Factory team who set a new Guinness world record for the London to Paris Row in June 2004.

Others have also rowed from Guernsey to Amsterdam, as well as setting world records in relay rowing and rowing for a million metres in relay.
