JEFF STUART has stepped down as the Guernsey men’s basketball coach after leading one of the island’s most successful ever eras.
After taking charge in 2007, he has a perfect inter-insular record, winning five successive matches against Jersey, while also leading the Sarnians into Island Games campaigns in 2007 and 2011.
Finishing ninth in Rhodes the first time around, he helped his side to a dramatic improvement with a sixth-place finish earlier this year in the Isle of Wight, despite having arguably the toughest draw possible.
Stuart was also in charge of Guernsey’s first taste of National League action in 2009, which gave players the chance to compete regularly at the highest level.
