IF GREMLIN Galacticos are going to hold on to the Image Group Premier Division snooker trophy, they are going to have to do it the hard way.

Having clawed back a substantial deficit on rivals La Villette Hotel Gremlins in recent weeks, the good work was undone in one fell swoop when the two met.

Gremlins backed up their 100% record with a second victory over the Galacticos, but while a 10-point lead is good reason to celebrate, they will also reflect on just how much better it could have been.

Martyn Desperques (pictured) and John Skillett flew out of the blocks to take the first five frames.

Desperques’ last league defeat came at the hands of Paul Le Sauvage, but there was no repeat this time with the former’s 56 break the highest on the night.
