GUERNSEY will not be sending a football team to the NatWest Island Games in Bermuda in 2013.
With the cost of travel to the Games estimated to be between £2,500 and £3,000 per person, numbers are expected to drop and the Guernsey Football Association have decided that the 2011 silver medal winners will be among those not travelling.
They are following in the footsteps of other football powerhouses Gibraltar, the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight in not entering, although Jersey are still undecided.
Guernsey coach Tony Vance admitted that it is disappointing, but that with Guernsey FC now in existence, it was not the blow it once might have been.
