THE Guernsey Race Club is appealing for more people to join its committee and help officiate on race day.
The Channel Island Race and Hunt Club have helped out in recent race meetings but GRC committee member Bob Le Bargy said the club wanted to be more self-sufficient.
‘Current members have been doing their jobs for a long time and are continually expected to run race meetings in a professional and knowledgeable manner,’ he said.
‘We have a small group of people putting in an awful lot of work for one day so we’d like to provide more of our own officials.
‘We want local people who have knowledge of the racing world or who have an interest in learning about it.’
