THE rest of the Division One basketball season has a lot to live up to after the opening night produced a cracker.

It was only right that Le Mont Saint came out on top having never trailed on Friday at Beau Sejour, but Focus demonstrated their undoubted quality with a stirring comeback to level the match in the third quarter having trailed by 17 points at one stage in the second.

It was an intriguing clash of styles between two sides who showed each other plenty of respect, with LMS calculating and consistent while their opposition were explosive but fitful.

With Jeff Stuart and Mike Beausire prominent, LMS quickly opened an early lead and were 21-9 to the good at the end of the first 10 minutes.
