Sylvans triumph again

Vale Rec 1, Sylvans 2
SYLVANS staged a second-half comeback to clinch three more points at the Corbet Field on Saturday.

It was a far more purposeful 45 minutes from the westerners after they had gone into the interval trailing to an outstanding goal finished off by Miles Pengelley (pictured).

Before the deadlock was broken on 38min. the opening period had been largely uneventful with Rec’s Martyn Moullin going close with a couple of free kicks but not testing the keeper, while at the other end Jon Loaring’s instinctive first-time volley with the outside of his boot looped up onto the top of the crossbar. However, when the goal did arrive it was a super bit of football, delightful in its simplicity.

It started with Jody Bisson’s quickly taken free-kick from the edge of his penalty area, which found Moullin out on the left wing.

He and Danny Ozanne played a neat one-two before the ball was delivered into the box where Pengelley arrived right on cue to slot home.
