GUERNSEY FC’s possible progression up the UK non-league pyramid could be re-mapped next month.

The Green Lions are currently top of the Combined Counties League Division One, a step-six league, and looking certain to be promoted to the CCL Premier Division in the coming weeks and thus step five.

However, the Football Association have called a meeting for Sunday 8 January when they will report on likely proposals to restructure step five across the country, with the CCL teams invited.

Although details are still confidential, it has been predicted by different CCL league and club administrators that it could mean a reduction from 14 step five leagues to just 12.
