THE GSAC has just held the 2011 Skips R Us fur and feather competition, which had been delayed by a week due to bad weather.

The club tried a new format this year by abolishing the heaviest bag.

Prizes would be awarded instead to the best fish by the percentage of the GSAC record (over 1lb in weight) and also for the most species caught and the heaviest fish of each species (over 1lb in weight).

Women and junior anglers were also catered for.

The club was pleased with a turnout of 78, which comprised 12 juniors, three women and 63 men.
