Vance walks

THE spectre of Guernsey fielding a severely weakened side in this season’s Muratti clashes is more real today.
Tony Vance (pictured) has resigned as Guernsey’s Muratti boss and it remains to be seen which shirt the island’s premier footballers will pull on when the 2012 Muratti semi-final against Alderney on Saturday 17 March clashes directly with Guernsey FC’s home match against Bookham.
That is a game which could have a major bearing on whether the Green Lions win the Combined Counties League Division One title.
After discussions over his future with James Blower, the new GFA director of representative football, the man who steered Guernsey into Europe and oversaw their first ever national cup success, has walked a self-imposed Muratti plank – officially much to the disappointment of the GFA.
