GUERNSEY’S finest travel to the home of snooker and into the lion’s den to defend the Challenge Cup against Sheffield tomorrow afternoon.

A six-man Sarnian team, captained by the in-form Adam Shorto, will each play three frames in the contest at the Star Snooker Academy, the tables being used are those that players, including world number nine Ding Junhui, practise on.

It is the second time that Guernsey have travelled to the UK for the challenge, which is preceded by a friendly tonight, with the Sarnians having narrowly won the last two contests, both on home soil.

With Martyn Desperques, John Skillett, Adrian Holley, Adrian Lihou and Darren Hughes making up the remainder of the Guernsey team, it as strong as could be, with Shorto confident about coming home with the silverware.
