ROAD race crashes are not being restricted to the Tour de France.
Yesterday’s early start for the Velo Club’s 100 and 50k road races on the 10.5-mile Vazon circuit saw two spills among the big field – not that Josh Gosselin had to worry about them.
The Island Games star outsprinted five rivals and just pipped Matt Osborn on the La Houguette finish line to chalk up another win after 2hrs 43min. 50sec. in the saddle.
Leon Ogier, Aaron Bailey, James Roe, Tony Bleasdale and Stuart Wallbridge also featured in the uphill dash for the line after Ogier had made a break for it approaching the L’Eree hill climb for the last time, only to be closed down by Roe.
