Games cyclists will be tested

‘YOU can trust our guys totally,’ was the word coming out of the Guernsey Velo Club yesterday as the Lance Armstrong drugs story moved across the world quicker than EPO-boosted blood passes through a cheat’s veins.
Guernsey Velo Club president Gary Wallbridge and the club’s development officer, Paul Brehaut, were both damning of the disgraced American.
At the same time Brehaut, pictured, strongly emphasised that no-one should think for one moment that any of Guernsey’s top riders, in what is a golden era for the sport locally, is cheating.
‘I believe everybody in Guernsey cycling is legal,’ he said, adding: ‘The Island Games next year in Bermuda will have testing because not everyone is as honest as Guernsey people.’
