Guernsey 19, Westcliff 13
GUERNSEY are back to winning ways – much to their relief.

Following four successive defeats, this match against the side who began the day immediately below them in the National Three London & South-East table had taken on ‘must win’ status.

The troops came up trumps for coach Jordan Reynolds, led expertly by the outstanding example of captain Blair Campbell.

And the victory was far more convincing than the six-point margin suggests, with Westcliff’s solitary try coming deep into the excessive 16 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the second half.

‘We played well at times and at others we let ourselves down a bit, but after losing four on the trot, we just needed a win no matter how ugly the performance,’ said Reynolds.
