Injury worries for title rivals

AHEAD of their crunch CCL Premier Division clash at Footes Lane tomorrow, both Guernsey FC and South Park could be without their star names.

While GFC know they will be missing Ryan-Zico Black after his broken leg last weekend – and also his midfield partner Angus Mackay due to a knee injury – their opponents are anxious about the fitness of Kieran Lavery.

After scoring 11 goals this season and being the star of their superb FA Cup run, Lavery is now touch-and-go for the meeting between the two sides, who have dropped just 18 league points between them.

‘Kieran was carried off after a heavy challenge against Cove last weekend and we initially thought he may have suffered a broken leg,’ said South Park manager Joe McElligott.

‘But after the swelling dropped and it was X-rayed, it turned out to be just soft tissue damage and he is on the mend, but it is very touch-and-go for Saturday.
