Mascot Scotty.
SCOTTY the Stag is in the island.
Reports suggest he was last seen eating a crab sandwich overlooking St Peter Port Harbour, but it remains unclear whether he will take on GFC mascot superstar Roary the Lion during half-time at Footes Lane this afternoon.
In truth, sprint hurdles specialist Roary against visiting Windsor FC’s own mascot hero, Scotty the Stag, gets the sporting juices flowing just about as much as an Andrew Flintoff fight, and the serious stuff will be out on the pitch as dangerous opponents come to town.
For those hundreds of GFC fans fed up with postponements home and away, they will be mightily relieved to see Sam Cochrane lead out the lads again and, hopefully, claim three vital points to stay on the tails of Badshot Lea and leaders Egham Town, both of which have played more matches than GFC, two in Badshot’s case and four in Egham’s.
