Dawes back at the front

Ben Wilen has Division Two leader Sarah Mercier on his tail at Delancey. (1287333)
STEVE DAWES put two minutes between himself and the runner-up over six miles in the penultimate race of the FNB Winter League at Delancey.
Another fantastic turnout saw 103 finishing across the various divisions.
With Dawes and Mike Wilesmith in a class of their own at the front, the greatest interest was in the minor placings and Will Bodkin was gifted a podium place as Alan Rowe was forced to pull out with injury with just half a mile remaining.
Young George Mason was a fine fourth.
Louise Perrio led home the women in seventh spot overall while in Division Two Sarah Mercier won from Nat Whitty and extended her lead at the top of the table.
Ed Mason extended his series lead in the junior under 15s race from Katie Rowe, while Alex Rowe won the under 13s.
