Simpson topples Aussie

A STRAIGHT sets win over Australian qualifier Matthew Karwalski took Chris Simpson into the second round of the World Championships at the Khalifa Complex in Doha, Qatar.

The Guernseyman, pictured, took just 37 minutes to see off the Australian 11-8, 11-8, 11-5, which earned him a crack at ninth-seeded Laurens Jan Anjema of the Netherlands, a match that was due to take place mid-morning today, Guernsey time.
