Winning the league this year unlikely – Le Tissier

Happy days at the Corbet Field: Vale Rec players celebrate their 15th and most recent Priaulx League championshjip in 2003.
A DECADE has nearly passed since their last Priaulx League triumph, but Carl Le Tissier will hope the glory days at the Corbet Field are not too far away again.
As he prepares his Vale Rec side for tonight’s Grand Fort Road derby against North at Northfield, it is Le Tissier’s yellows who are looking down the table from second at the reigning champions.
That is a position not too frequent in recent times and having only dropped one more point than early leaders Bels, Le Tissier admits his side have made a pleasing start.
‘My aim at the start of the season was to finish in the top three and we are still right on course for that,’ he said.
‘But I am not getting carried away at all. We are probably in a bit of a false position currently because we haven’t played many of the top sides yet.’
