LUCK was just not with Andy Priaulx at this year’s Race of Champions with technical gremlins on two of his cars causing him problems in yesterday event which was for individual glory.
At the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, he had to change one vehicle in the collecting area and then it was a throttle sticking open that put him into barriers and caused a ‘DNF’ that put him out of the competition.
The BMW DTM driver won his race against China’s Ho Pin Tung but then the throttle problems struck as he was racing against Dane Tom Kristensen.
‘I know these things happen so have to be philosophical about such things,’ Priaulx said.
‘As always I have enjoyed myself and want to come back next year for my eighth attempt at the event.’
