The latest in our series counting down to the Guernsey Press Sporting Achievement of the Year Award…
THE 2011 winner of the Guernsey Press Sporting Achievement of the Year staked another strong claim for this year’s accolade.
Kristina Neves has enjoyed yet another remarkable 12 months in the water, both in pools and in the open.
Island records continue to tumble to the girl who only turned 16 in August and, along with them, have come numerous domestic, county and national titles as well as Great Britain selection.
It is perhaps easiest to look over her year chronologically, with the first notable achievement coming when she clinched a place on the GB team for European Junior Championships by breaking her own island long-course 800m freestyle record in the new London Olympic pool.
