Promotion hopes boosted as States give green light

FOOTES LANE will have a new look this spring after the States of Guernsey removed a significant obstacle to Guernsey FC’s progression.

The island’s Planning Department have granted full permission for landlords Culture & Leisure to build a timber fence and new gates to the boundary of the playing fields at the Green Lions’ home ground.

Assuming the work is completed by 31 March, it means that GFC will pass the FA’s strict ground grading rules and will be able to be promoted this season, should they win the CCL Premier Division.

GFC chairman Steve Dewsnip is delighted at the news and remains confident that everything will be complete in time for the FA to inspect and award the grading before that deadline.
