AFTER its unplanned break, the Priaulx League title race hots up again tonight as the top two clash in a crunch Corbet Field encounter.

While Bels have been the pacesetters from day one and remain unbeaten, few would have expected hosts Vale Rec to be their nearest rivals post-Christmas.

But the yellows are actually the side who have dropped least points so far, trailing Bels by eight points, but with three games in hand.

They now face an acid test of their credentials with eight games in a 23-day spell, which also includes a double-header with North and clash against St Martin’s.

Well done Vale Rec. on last nights win. A much deserved win and surely setting up for one of the best title races in many years. And to think many said GFC would be the death of Guernsey football!
