INNOVATE won a thriller between two of the top teams in the Legis Women’s netball Division to inflict a first defeat of the season on Comets.
The eagerly anticipated clash promised much on paper and it did not disappoint with the two sides separated by just two points, 38-36, after 40 minutes.
Although Comets were without island players Lorna Hall and Kerri Brown, they were boosted by the return of former Island Games MVP Liz Kerr from long-term injury.
She showed she has lost none of her class with a match-leading haul of 25 points.
