NERINE A squared matters in the Division One netball title race with a thrilling 36-32 win over previously undefeated Resolution IT at Beau Sejour last night.
Driven forward by the outstanding Nena Copperwaite, playing at centre, the defending champions had the edge for most of the match.
‘Rezzers’, who trailed by five at the end of the first quarter, got it back to level at 17-17, but by half-time the champions were 19-17 ahead and they were well worth their win, the tightness of the final score owing more to their profligacy in the shooting circle.
Nerine were dominant in the centre court where the trio of Copperwaite, Lil Bougourd and Donna Brehaut played fluently and effectively. The two sides, who have now both lost once, play twice more.
