Belgrave Wanderers 4, St Martin’s 1

St Martin’s coach has not given up hope, but surely the Priaulx League title chase is now at best a three-horse race with Bels stretching into a significant lead.

‘You never know,’ said John Peace after last night’s defeat at the Track which left Saints 22 points behind the leaders, albeit with five games in hand.

‘Teams are picking points off each other and I’m one of those people who will always look to be positive.

‘You are not going to hear me conceding any title,’ he added.

John Peace is crazy if he thinks it is not all over for St Martins this season. On this show St Martins wont even get a top 3 place as they field a team that is so short on talent it is unbelievable. What has happened to Tippett and McGrath among others? Tippett looks far too heavy and older than his years and McGrath, who was touted earlier in the season as a top striker, looks un interested, lazy and as if the world owes him a favour. All he did was try little flicks that hardly ever came off and when they didnt he just laughed it off. Disappointing, very disappointing and disrespectful to the long time followers of St Martins including a certain Mr Laine who would have been quite upset with the recent lack of enthusiasm from the St Martins players, not all of them, Sam Hall looks a very good prospect and worked his heart out but the so called seniors should stand up and be counted in my opinion
