Gosling’s hard training pays off
Saturday 26th January 2013, 2:29PM GMT.
IT WAS a gun-to-tape victory for Nathan Gosling in the first of the Ana Leaf Winter Duathlon series run by the Guernsey Triathlon Club.
Thirty-one competitors lined up in horrendous conditions to take part in the two-mile run, eight-mile bike, two-mile run format at Portelet.
Gosling, who set the pace in the first of the two out-and-back runs, came into T1 in 11min. 9sec. with David Crosland and Alan Rowe for company, five seconds adrift.
Simon March led in the chasing group, one minute off the pace.
Straight onto the bike, Gosling, pictured, extended the gap on Crosland, who paid the price for no pre-season transition training.
