CHRIS SIMPSON will face world number two Nick Matthew in the first round of the CASE Swedish squash Open this evening.

The Guernseyman, who is ranked 29th in the world, eased through his qualifying final against Siddarth Suchde last night in Linkoping to reach the main draw of the $70,000 PSA Tour event.

It took Simpson 43min. to see off his Indian opponent, 11-9, 11-4, 11-2.

However, his reward could not have been any tougher with Matthew the top seed in Sweden.
