Robilliard beats Olympian

KYLIE ROBILLIARD heads to this weekend’s national indoor championships ranked fifth in the country and with that big smile having returned to her face.
The 24-year-old sprint hurdler is fit again, the problems of 2012 and a sustained bout of glandular fever finally behind her, as proved by her winning performance over 60m hurdles at the Birmingham Games on Sunday.
‘I’m just over the moon. I’ve been through so much this last year,’ she said following excited and repeated bursts of: ‘I’ve beaten an Olympian’.
The Olympian in question was GB star and Birchfield Harrier Louise Hazel, who competed in the pentathlon at the London Olympics and has an indoor hurdles best a full second quicker than the Loughborough-based Sarnian.
Robilliard clocked 8.62sec. to qualify for the Birmingham Games final, but then took it down to 8.49 in winning the final.
