Exclusive interview by Matt Lihou with Guernsey FC midfielder Alex Le Prevost
GUERNSEY FC have continued their brilliant FA Vase run by reaching the quarter-finals after a superb team display saw them defeat highly-fancied Spalding United in Lincolnshire on Saturday.
The Green Lions fell behind to an excellent Gary King strike, but Ross Allen ensured the teams went in level at the break by netting just before the interval.
Matt Loaring then gave GFC a 2-1 lead just after half-time, before Allen sealed it with his second of the game, to keep alive their dream of playing in the final at Wembley Stadium in May.

Well done GFC what a fantastic result. On the road to Wembley and reaching the quarter finals is a great achievement… The Island’s football community, all island community should support them and get behind the team…and only positive things will follow for GFA and for Guernsey Plc as a whole.

Fantastic achievement lads, keep it going.
The island couldn’t buy publicity like this. The players and backup team are a credit to GFC.
Fingers crossed for a favourable draw eh!

Are GFC now officially nicknamed the millionaires? That’s certainly how the fans were referring to the team at Saturday’s game, not sure that’s the best way to endear us to anyone.

Result puts Spalding manager in his place, if his team are so great what does that make us?
