IT NOW looks inevitable that there will be no basketball tournaments at this summer’s Island Games in Bermuda, according to Pat Ogier.
The Guernsey Basketball Association president, who is also the women’s coach, has been in constant contact with his counterparts across the Atlantic about finding a solution, but none has come.
It was confirmed last week that just two women’s and four men’s teams had entered the respective events, including Guernsey, after a spate of withdrawals.
‘For all intents and purposes, the women’s event has been cancelled,’ said Ogier.
