GIAAC men go for 20th straight win
Saturday 23rd February 2013, 2:29PM GMT.
TOMORROW the GIAAC senior men look to extend an impressive 19-year winning streak to an unprecedented 20 against Jersey at the inter-insular cross country at Footes Lane.
Guernsey have dominated the men’s race in past editions, but Jersey have made a resurgence of late with a group of young talent emerging to bolster their squad, which has lacked depth.
With a strong Guernsey team toeing the line and the absence of Jersey’s talented Elliott Dorey, the team honours look to continue in the same vein as past years, with Steve Dawes very likely to take his sixth individual win.
Equally, Louise Perrio should not be troubled at the head of the senior women’s field with her recent run of good form.
Jersey’s Jo Gorrod and Chloe Turmel will battle against local girls Sarah Mercier and Natalie Whitty to round up the individual top-three.
