Club prepares for another big ‘buzz’
Saturday 2nd March 2013, 2:29PM GMT.
The Guernsey team are all ears for the island coaching team at half-time against Wisbech Town.
THE Guernsey Hockey Club will again be ‘buzzing’ tomorrow as it prepares for another bumper home HA Trophy crowd to get behind the Sarnians.
Guernsey’s men’s side entertains Gateshead in a repeat of last year’s final, won by the north-east side 2-1.
And after previous home matches have seen crowds of around 400 or 500 cheering on the greens, the Hockey Club’s manager Leigh Le Page is confident of more of the same for the Sunday lunchtime match.
‘There is always that extra buzz about the whole place whenever a HA match is going to be played and this is no different,’ she said.
‘With this being a repeat of the final, people also know that it will be a close match and should be a great advert for hockey on the island, so we are urging everyone to come down.’
