THE introduction of a new hill climb at the Reservoir this summer has been met with support from a number of the island’s leading motor racers.
Yesterday, it was confirmed that a 600-yard stretch would be used for an initial one-off meeting on Saturday 15 June, with the fastest times expected to be in the low 20sec. region.
That is an assessment that Nick Saunders, a regular challenger for the fastest time of the day accolade up Le Val des Terres, agrees with.
‘I am expecting it to be a very, very fast course along there,’ he said.
‘Having another different event is always great to see and although they will not be as quick on the corners, I reckon the bikes will also do well on the straights.’

Nice for the racers to have another venue, I know they’ve been looking for another suitable course for ages, the other being the Vale Castle road.
It’s another Petit Bot as far as spectators are concerned though, can’t see the various landowners in the area agreeing to have a load of people trample over their fields to get a view unless the club has made suitable arrangements.
