Guernsey 0, Jersey 1
AFTER a frustrating delay, it was Jersey’s under-15s who deservedly retained the Star Trophy with a late Patrick Cullinane strike at Northfield on Saturday afternoon.

Fog delays at both islands’ airports had meant the kick-off time was more than three hours later than originally scheduled and the game truncated to just 30 minutes each way.

But after riding something of a brief storm when Guernsey hit the post through Will du Feu and had a great opportunity cleared from a corner, it was Cullinane who struck with 56min. of the hour played.

It was a goal that Guernsey joint-coach Andy Manning thought was a tad harsh on his team.
