Di Stenner, who with Claire Le Page was crowned Winter League champions, although Stenner was forced to miss the final through injury. Michaela Stacey Goldberg played as a stand-in.
THE final of the RGGC Ladies’ Winter Golf League was held on a beautiful spring day.
The weekly league had seen a mix of weather from sunshine to snow, with course closures fairly common.
The morning league winners were Lady Captain Cath Chapman and Avril Hurley, who had tied with Glenis Seal and Sandy Payne in the table but they claimed a decisive play-off victory.
The afternoon league winners were Claire Le Page and Di Stenner, although unfortunately the latter suffered a bad knee injury while skiing in Austria and had to sit on the sidelines watching her stand-in, Michaela Stacey Goldberg, battle for the crown on her behalf in the final.
The match was most definitely a game of two halves.
