ADAM SHORTO believes that his latest Guernsey Snooker Open success is one of the best titles of his career so far.
The 31-year-old left-hander, who has also won three island titles, secured his second Open title at the North British Legion on Saturday after edging out rival Martyn Desperques 3-2 in a thrilling final.
Guernsey Billiards and Snooker Association vice-president Martin Robert described the match as ‘possibly the best I have ever seen locally’ and Shorto admitted it came as a shock to win.
‘All day long Martyn was the form player, knocking in huge breaks constantly and all day it felt as though the rest of us were playing for second place,’ he said.
