SEVEN Guernsey players have been chosen to represent the Hampshire senior side in the RFU County Championship Shield next month.

Forwards Cameron Craine, Nick Barton, Lewis Hiller and James Regnard have been joined by backs Blair Campbell, Jason Harvey and Chris Wood in the squad to face Middlesex on Saturday 27 April.

‘The seven will be starting, so to have almost half the XV from Guernsey is outstanding from our point of view,’ said Guernsey Rugby Club head coach Jordan Reynolds.

Guernsey would have had eight players in the squad, but star scrum-half Malcolm Barnes is ruled out by injury after dislocating his shoulder in the last home match against Thurrock.
