Bels hit Vale Rec for six
Monday 16th September 2013, 2:30PM BST.
FOUR second-half goals killed off toothless Vale Rec as Bels ran out 6-1 winners in the FNB Priaulx League at the Corbet Field on Saturday and how Carl Le Tissier must wish he could have one of the champions’ illustrious forwards.
Without both Sean Mills and, now, the suspended Glenn Le Tissier, Vale looked bereft of attacking ideas, although they did shock the visitors with a Mark Ingrouille goal just before half-time.
Bels had just gone two ahead via a beauty of a goal from Luke Winch, who had already set up the first for Dave Rihoy.
Bels secured the three points with goals from Winch, Craig Young, Joby Bourgaize and Louis Travers in the second half.
Meanwhile, Rovers suffered their first Priaulx League defeat of the season as Dale Garland scored both Rangers goals in a 2-1 win at the College Field.
Rovers had taken an early lead through Dale Webb’s penalty in an incident that saw Marc Isabelle sent off, but Garland equalised just before half-time and settled matters in the 89th minutes with a penalty of his own after he was brought down by goalkeepr Tom Newbold, who was also sent off.
At St Peter’s, Sylvans and St Martin’s shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
Brad Knott had opened the scoring on 50min. but Sylvans were not behind for long as Jon Loaring’s shot hit the underside of the bar before striking the unfortunate Saints keeper Richard Davey’s back and find its way into the net.
