Rovers come from behind to take all three points
Monday 23rd September 2013, 12:30PM BST.
THE Rovers resurgence continues.
There was a time in the not-too-distant past when this result would have been considered a huge upset, but following their impressive start to the season, Saturday’s victory at Port Soif would have raised far fewer eyebrows than usual.
However, the hosts had to do it the hard way and to come from 2-0 down at half-time to take all three points, deservedly so against a side expected to be challenging for the FNB Priaulx League crown over the coming months, speaks volumes for the spirit Karl Addis has installed in his troops.
But while it was a real team effort from Rovers, striker Dale Webb takes the plaudits for his brilliant second-half hat-trick that sent the home fans into ever-growing raptures as the afternoon progressed.
The first 45 minutes had been well contested, but it had been North who had created more chances, with young forward Kyle Smith converting two of them.
Final score Rovers 4, North 2. Full report in today’s Guernsey Press.
