Hamon on bench for Exeter today

JAMES HAMON will take a step closer to professional football today when he sits on the bench for Exeter City’s first team in Npower League Two.
Although the talented 18-year-old goalkeeper is currently on non-contractual and unpaid terms with the south-west club since he began training with them several weeks ago, he has got an earlier than expected call-up to the squad.
An injury to fellow teenager Christy Pym sees Hamon, who has just recovered from injury himself, as back-up to first-choice Artur Krysiak for the trip to Fleetwood Town.
He had been due to face Man City for the under-21s last month before chipping a bone in his hand, so as his dad Chris explained, young James has had to wait for this chance.
‘James did a full training session with the appropriate strapping on it earlier in the week without any problems, so got put into the first team squad,’ he said. ‘This is another small step for James, getting to experience a matchday and preparation with the first team, doing all the warm-ups and then being there if something happens to Artur.’
