Saints coach remains upbeat

JORDAN GALLIENNE remains confident his St Martin’s side will start to take the chances that would see them climb up the Priaulx League table.
The coach’s young side lost again on Friday night, 1-0 at home to Sylvans after missing numerous goalscoring opportunities, to remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point.
Saints now face Vale Rec away at the Corbet Field tomorrow night and Gallienne is remaining upbeat.
‘I would be more concerned if we weren’t creating chances, but we are and when we begin to take them, we will start to win games regularly,’ he said.
‘We dominated on Friday, hit the upright and the bar, their keeper made some fine saves and then we made one defensive mistake and were punished for it.
‘Our performances are getting better every game and those wins will come, hopefully starting on Wednesday.
‘If we are sat there this coming Saturday night having taken no points against Rec or Rovers, that is when there may be a bit of concern, but not yet.’
Vale Rec v. St Martin’s kicks off at 7.30pm tomorrow, the same time as North v. Rangers at Northfield, also in the FNB Priaulx League.
