A DRAMATIC conclusion to the group stages of the Investec CI League saw Guernsey champions Argylls grab the last semi-final place moments after they thought they had missed out – or at least that is what they are hoping for.

However, the match circumstances mean that the official result has yet to be confirmed.

With persistent rain having fallen at the KGV for an hour or so, their winner-takes-all clash with Farmers-Caesareans was finally called off with four overs remaining after Chris Dravers came a cropper in his delivery stride.

With the match having already been reduced to 30 overs per side due to the morning dampness, the sides left the field with neither exactly sure who had won as the recalculation of the Duckworth/Lewis score at the end of the 26th over had yet to take place.
