ORs fall at the final obstacle once again
Monday 29th August 2011, 2:29PM BST.
ORs are the Investec CI League ‘bridesmaids’ for a second year running.
The Optimists and Rovers combined club came second to Old Victorians in the 2010 competiton and in this year’s contest, they came second again after losing by 32 runs to the Jersey outfit.
It has been a familiar feeling for Port Soif-based club this campaign.
They finished runners-up in the Dave Fisher Evening League Trophy and the Rovers players had to make do with silver medals in the Barclays Wealth Evening League as well.
‘It would have been nice to have picked up some silverware – I think we’ve deserved it but there’s been a lot of positives to take away this summer,’ said ORs manager Aaron Scoones.
