GUERNSEY are on the verge of promotion to Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division Five despite their match being abandoned yesterday.

Old rivals Jersey ended hosts Malaysia’s unbeaten record in Division Six when they beat them by seven runs.

Guernsey were on top against Nigeria when a spectacular thunderstorm struck the Selangor Turf Club ground.

The African side had recovered from 18 for 5 to 163 for 7 with three overs remaining.
