ROB SMART was back to his winning ways as the Tour of Guernsey reached Delancey Park for a mix of on- and off-road criterium racing.
In contrast to Tuesday night’s wet and slippery conditions at Petit Bot, this was a glorious evening and was made the most of by the double individual gold medallist from the Isle of Wight in the senior/veterans race.
The criterium course wound its way around almost the whole of the park and nearly all of the riders in the senior category made the start line in a bid to close down Andy Colver’s domination of the general classification.
From the off Colver hit the front and after the first circuit Smart was lurking down in fourth spot.
