Bradley Wiggins to visit island
Monday 23rd September 2013, 3:54PM BST.
CYCLING legend Sir Bradley Wiggins will be riding into Guernsey for a weekend in mid-October.
The first British rider to win the Tour de France, and the London Olympics 2012 time trial gold medallist, will be helping to raise money for charity and attending the Guernsey launch of an Opus book that bears his name.
The large-format publication is the work of the locally-based company of that name.
The Official Sir Bradley Wiggins Opus will be unveiled at a charity gala dinner in his presence at Beau Sejour on Friday 18 October.
It will mark the start of a weekend of activities that will culminate in a charity cycle event on the Sunday.
During the course of the weekend, Sir Bradley, who races for Sky Procycling, will be helping to promote cycling to the community and meeting as many islanders as he can, including some of Guernsey’s elite sporting youngsters.
