Ray of hope for Hart

ONE legendary England goalkeeper firmly believes that Joe Hart remains the best current number one ahead of next month’s crunch World Cup qualifiers.
Ray Clemence, pictured, was in Guernsey for a Wooden Spoon charity golf day, along with fellow former professional footballer Terry Mancini and former Scotland and British Lions rugby star Andy Reid.
During his international days, Clemence earned 61 caps for England – even more of a feat considering how he spent much of that career jostling for the jersey with Peter Shilton, England’s record cap holder.
Clemence was also England’s goalkeeping coach from 1996 up until last year, working closely with Hart as he established himself.
And despite some recent criticism of the Manchester City man’s performances, Clemence insists there is nothing to worry about ahead of must-win England matches against Montenegro and Poland.
