Green Lions’ roar nears
Monday 28th March 2011, 2:30PM BST.
THE Green Lions of Guernsey FC are almost here after the official unveiling of the potential new club’s crest and motto.
At a private presentation last week, organisers of the proposed new club unveiled the logo as well as sponsorship and advertising opportunities to members of the island’s business community.
It marks another massive step on Guernsey FC’s journey to joining the UK league pyramid, most likely the Combined Counties League.
‘We wanted to adopt a club badge that stood for what the new community club is all about,’ said Steve Dewsnip, one of the club’s directors.

why the lions? when our island has three leopards on its seal. male lions, as depicted on the logo are lazy and let the females do the work of hunting etc, once a kill is made the males saunter over to take their fill.they laze about, occasionaly try to defend the pride and then mate with the females when ever they can.
